给隆回思源全体同学的信

Dear classmates:

I can still remember how I felt when I first entered the Siyuan School in Longhui, Hunan. My school life was suddenly vivid and remain fresh in my memory. When the flag of China was raising slowly to the top, I sang the national anthem in my head with all my enthusiasm and pride; when we sat on the playground, watching and cheering for the martial arts performances, I even thought that I’m still the middle school student who grow up under the sunshine every day; when I wrote on the blackboard using the chalks, I seemed to discover the brightness reflecting from students’ eyes…

Dear Siyuan School students, I can’t tell how excited I was when I saw your hands raising up confidently to participate in class activities and when you were asking how you can apply to UWC, or even you just simply wanted a hug from us. When you guys talked about your dreams, you were a bit shy but determined. Until then, I felt like everything I did in this week was extremely meaningful. I believe that your confidence, determination, as well as courage will accompany you along the way you chase your dream. Thank you so much because perhaps you guys have taught me more than I can give you.

Lastly, I’d like to employ my favorite sentence to wish you all the best in the future: “when you look at the world, never forget to keep your feet on the ground; when you are down to earth, you should still be curious about the world.”

亲爱的同学们：

从第一天踏进思源学校的那一刻开始，我的中小学生活突然变得历历在目、记忆犹新。当五星红旗缓缓上升时，我默唱国歌，像是满腔热血的少年；当我们坐在操场上，为武术表演而惊叹、欢呼时，我好像还是曾经的小学生，每日沐浴阳光、感受成长；当我走进教室拿起粉笔在黑板上一笔一划地写着板书，我仿佛透过台下一双双专注认真的眼睛里，看到了光芒万丈……

亲爱的思源学校的孩子们，当你们自信地举手参与课堂活动时，当你们冲上来拥抱我们时，当你们尝试着问起如何申请UWC时，当你们略显羞涩却坚定地讲述自己独特的梦想时，我确定自己是在做一件无比有意义的事情。我希望并且相信着，自信、坚定和勇敢将会永远伴随你们的生活，帮助你们到达实现梦想的那一刻！感谢你们，或许你们教给我的远比我能带给你们的更多，也希望我们的到来带给你们的是打开世界的窗户、努力前进的动力和美好的回忆。

最后，用我最喜欢的一句话来代表我对你们的祝福：“当你仰望星空时，不要忘了脚踏实地；当你脚踏实地时，亦要学会仰望星空。”
